Peace and Blessings to the Community:
This is your Founder, Royalty R. Weldon, this space is to give you a brief background behind the scenes to the foundation of Yahiness Entertainment Group, LLC ("Y.E.G"). I am the Creative Director and Founder of Y.E.G. I serve my community with love respect and dignity. To the folks that would like to know the who, what, when, where, why and how of Y.E.G. ; I will spell it for you.
I grew up and gained my primary education through the New York City School system. The schools I have attended are as follows: C.E.S. 163, P.S. 58x, Saint Simon Stock Catholic School and Frederick Douglass Academy. I obtained a B.F.A. in Graphic Design at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and now I am currently in the CUNY Teaching - Arts Graduate Program at Herbert. H. Lehman College on the West side of the Bronx.
I am a certified Substitute Teacher and currently work in the corporate world throughout the week and on Saturdays and during the summer months. I am a Theatre Specialist at the Music and Arts Center for Humanities(M.A.C.H.) in Bridgeport, Conn. working and changing the lives of children and young adults with special - needs. March 2008 made 9 years that I have been with MACH and caring for the children and young adults with Special - Needs.
YEG was founded to strategically accomadate the young people in the community with educational services, activites, trips and events. My dream is to assist as many young people in school and through out college as possible. It was once expressed to me that "idle time equals idle minds" and with this formula YEG was born. We started up in the Bronx back in November 2007. Our first event was in the city where we rented Peppers and showcased: a live performance by an upcoming Hip - Hop group, a fashion show with a new clothing line, Dee Jay, food, drinks, family and friends. Many more events like this one will be staged!
We plan to serve the Tri-state area including Philadelphia and Connecticut. My personal adoration for the young moldable minds of the youth is the passion that drives this project. We are not investing our time, monies and women - power to only benefit ourselves but to make a difference in the various communities we plan to reach.
The support from You,the community is all we ask for. Your input, time and monies that are generated will be put into a fund that will help send Our children of the community through school from the nursery level on through to the collegiate levels.
So, we are counting on you to participate, voice your opinions and share ideas on how to make a safe, nurturing environment for Our children. Help Our children learn about their culture, discover who they are, and support them in every venture their minds' imagine to pursue.
